Disney+ will introduce its first new leading man to the MCU next month with Moon Knight starring Star Wars actor Oscar Issac as Steven Grant, also known as Marc Spector. Grant/Spector suffers from a dissociative identity disorder, a mental condition meaning he lives two lives, both as the mild-mannered gift-shop employee and a trained mercenary.

Moon Knight is undeniably Marvel's darkest hero and his Disney+ adaptation is expected to portray that with brutal violence and a dark tone. Not only does Grant's day-to-day life feature multiple personalities, but so does his heroic antics as he fights crime as both Moon Knight and Mr. Knight.

Mr. Knight is the formally-dressed persona of the Marvel hero who patrols the streets as a detective and not a crime-fighting superhero. Moon Knight is expected to thoroughly explore the many complicated sides of Oscar Issac's MCU newcomer and new promo art highlights both of these aliases.

Moon Knight Promo Highlights his Two Sides

Red Wolf has listed its official Moon Knight merchandise online revealing new promo art from the Disney+ series highlighting the two sides of Oscar Issac's MCU hero.

The series will feature both the Moon Knight and Mr. Knight alter egos which are showcased in an Ancient Egyptian-inspired design

Moon Knight is known for his many personalities, with the most recently introduced being Mr. Knight who will appear in the project. The formally dressed alter ego often fills more of a detective role as a liaison between the hero and the police during cases.

Moon Knight has gone by many aliases over the years, including "First of Vengeance" and the "Fist of Khonshu."

The Disney+ hero can be seen in his classic costume behind the line "The one you see coming." Within Marvel Comics, Moon Knight famously wears white, so his enemies can see him coming, the promo art seems to indicate the series will present a similar explanation.

Much of the art takes inspiration from classic Egyptian designs, as his powers originally come from the Egyptian Moon god Khonshu.

The MCU Faithfully Adapts Moon Knight

Marvel has a long-standing history of making significant changes to its famous heroes for their live-action MCU adaptations, but all evidence appears to be pointing to a fairly comic accurate translation of Moon Knight.

Steven Grant aka Marc Spector is among Marvel's most complicated heroes to understand, so it will be intriguing to see how that will be explained simply enough for casual audiences and younger viewers.

The newly-released promo art put heavy emphasis on Moon Knight's two crime-fighting personas, suggesting both will play a key role in the story being told. There were also many references to the Egyptian origins of his powers, seemingly indicating his famous backstory will remain intact. Even the explanation for his highly-visible and brightly colored suit looks to be sticking to the comic source material.

Moon Knight will premiere its six-episode first season on March 30, 2022, exclusively on Disney+.
